The Piedmont NC Chapter of the American Guild of Organists hopes you will join us as we gather to learn, grow professional skills, socialize & network with fellow church musicians, enjoy a fabulous hymn festival, and more!

We all live busy lives, so this symposium--split between Greensboro on Friday and Winston-Salem on Saturday--is brief but full of exciting opportunities. We are passionate about professional development and thrilled to offer a variety of workshops that we hope will aid organists in their careers, no matter if they are just beginning in the field, are experienced and degreed, or are retired or semi-retired. Participants will be able to choose courses in:
  • Working with Aging Voices
  • Getting an Organ Building Project Off the Ground
  • Improvisation,
  • Registration at the "Wrong" Organ
  • A Music Publisher's Perspective
and more.

Concert organist, composer, and conductor Tom Trenney will not only present a sure-to-be wonderful hymn festival on the Dobson-Rosales Organ at West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC, but will also lead two workshops: one on improvisation using hymn tunes and the other sharing his perspective and journey as a composer and arranger at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. We are thrilled to bring this talented musician to our Chapter and to have a chance to grow our skills in hymn-playing and improvisation as well.

To learn more about Tom Trenney and our other workshop presenters, check out the Performers & Presenters page.
